As a tangible form of the service of Jenderal Soedirman University, Unsoed’s Masters of Management students held a 2019 Rural Development Project program targeting rural communities, especially Small Medium Business. This event was held as a form of concern for the lack of mastery and use of social media as a tool to market products to reach a wider market segment.
This activity was carried out at the village hall of Kebanggan, Sumbang, Banyumas with the theme of Encouraging Village Entrepreneurship through Digital Marketing Mastery. This event was attended by Prof. Agus Suroso as one of the professors at the Faculty of Economics and Business Unsoed, Dr. Refius Pradipta Setyanto, as the Chairperson of the Unsoed Master of Management Study Program, and the Head of the Village of Kebanggan, Sumbang, Banyumas. The event was attended by 53 participants consisting of members of the Village PKK, Women Farmer Group, Youth Organization, and Small Medium Business who came from the local community.
As the name implies this program is devoted to the development of rural communities that are still lagging behind. “This program is a new breakthrough of Master of Management students which is expected to be carried out regularly as a form of community service,” said Dr. Refius Pradipta Setyanto, as the Chairperson of MM Unsoed Study Program.
The enthusiasm of residents in participating in this training proves that the need for higher education’s contribution in helping Small Medium Business entrepreneurs in rural areas to market the products they produce. In his remarks, Imam Ashaddhudhin as the village head thanked the Master of Management Study Program for his contribution to his citizens in contributing to the marketing of Small Medium Business products.
